Data retention & deletion

If a payment fails, your vault becomes read only: you and your family can still open it and download a copy, but nothing can be changed. We email you straight away, again at 30 and 60 days, and a week before the end. If the card is not updated within 90 days, the vault is permanently deleted.

Owner deletion. You may permanently delete your account from Settings. Deletion removes vault entries, uploads, nominees, and remembrance content from our systems.

After unlock. Published remembrance pages and approved community biography contributions may remain visible to honour the life documented, unless the family requests removal.

Backups. Encrypted backups roll off on a thirty day cycle in production environments.

Offline export. Owners may download the whole vault at any time, as a ZIP that opens in any web browser with a passphrase they choose, so a platform shutdown cannot strand your family.
