HELAÜLOOM© is operated as described in these terms. By using the platform you agree to these terms.

Not legal advice. HELAÜLOOM organises and stores information. We do not provide legal, tax, or financial advice. Documents you store must still go through proper legal channels in your jurisdiction.

Your responsibility. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter, for keeping your password and two factor authentication secure, and for naming appropriate nominees and trusted contacts.

Pages for someone who has passed. You may make a remembrance page only for someone you knew, who has died. You may not make a page for someone living, or pretend to be family when you are not. Close family may ask us to hand a page to them, and we may take a page down, or move it to the right person, after a report. A page is listed in Find someone, and seen by search engines, only when the people who look after it choose to list it.

Access model. Vault access after death flows through accepted unlock nominees, not through the People directory alone. Nominees may begin the unlock ceremony when the owner cannot. Two accepted nominees must confirm; a 72-hour grace period follows, during which owner sign-in cancels unlock. HELAÜLOOM does not verify death certificates, the ceremony is designed to balance family access with mistaken unlock protection.

Subscriptions. Paid plans renew monthly unless cancelled. Annual plans receive two months free where offered.

Merchant of record. Digital subscriptions are sold by HELAÜLOOM© as merchant of record. Tax may be collected at checkout where required. See our refunds policy and MoR programme.

API & software. Programmatic access is governed by our API terms and intellectual property policy.

We host; you post. HELAÜLOOM is a service that stores and displays what members and visitors choose to put on it. We do not write, check or endorse that content, and we are not the speaker of anything a user posts. Under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act and similar laws, responsibility for content lies with the person who posted it.

Who you are, and what you may post. When you create an account, and each time you make a page, you declare that you are who you say you are and that you have the right to use every name, photograph, voice, video and word you post. You may not make a page for someone living without their written consent, make a page for someone you did not know, impersonate anyone, or use anyone's name or likeness without the right to. Doing so breaks these Terms and may break right-of-publicity, privacy, defamation, copyright and criminal laws. We keep a record of every declaration, and we may share it with the person affected, their family, or the authorities.

Your content. You keep ownership of what you post. You give HELAÜLOOM a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process, display and share it as needed to run the service, including after you die, for the people you choose. You can delete content or export it at any time.

What we may do. We check content automatically and may refuse, hold, remove or restore anything, suspend or close any account, take any page down, and hand a page to the family, at our discretion, with or without notice, including to comply with the law. Not an emergency, medical, legal or financial service. Wellness check-ins respond to alerts from your own devices, which can be late or missed. HELAÜLOOM does not monitor your health, diagnose anything, or contact emergency services. In an emergency, call 911. Nothing on HELAÜLOOM is medical, legal, tax or financial advice.

AI features. Some features use artificial intelligence to moderate content, answer questions, suggest connections and help write. AI can be wrong. Check anything that matters. See our AI use policy.

Provided as is. THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY THAT IT WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR FREE, OR THAT CONTENT WILL NEVER BE LOST. Keep your own copies of anything irreplaceable; you can export at any time.

Limitation of liability. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, HELAÜLOOM, ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, CONTRACTORS AND SUPPLIERS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL OR EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, HOWEVER CAUSED, INCLUDING BY CONTENT OTHER USERS POST, A MISSED OR LATE WELLNESS ALERT, A MISTAKEN OR DELAYED UNLOCK, OR THE SERVICE BEING UNAVAILABLE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS TOGETHER IS CAPPED AT THE GREATER OF THE FEES YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR $100. Some places do not allow some of these limits; there, they apply as far as the law allows.

Indemnification. You will defend, indemnify and hold HELAÜLOOM, its owners, officers and contractors harmless from any claim, loss, damage, fine or cost (including reasonable legal fees) arising from what you post, your use of the service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of anyone's rights, including their likeness, privacy or copyright.

Dispute resolution, class action and jury waiver. Most concerns are best solved by emailing legal@helauloom.com, and we would rather work it out that way. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally within 60 days will be settled by binding individual arbitration under the American Arbitration Association's Consumer Rules, not in court, except that either side may bring an individual claim in small claims court. YOU AND HELAÜLOOM EACH GIVE UP THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND TO TAKE PART IN A CLASS, COLLECTIVE OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of creating your account by emailing legal@helauloom.com; opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.

Governing law & venue. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles. Anything not settled by arbitration or small claims court will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

Ending your account. You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close it if you break these Terms. Sections that by their nature should last, including content licences for the people you chose, disclaimers, limits of liability, indemnity and dispute resolution, continue after your account ends.

Changes and the rest. We may update these Terms and will tell you of material changes before they apply; continuing to use HELAÜLOOM means you accept them. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies and that part is enforced as far as the law allows. These Terms, with the policies they link to, are the whole agreement between you and HELAÜLOOM. You may not transfer them; we may, as part of a sale or reorganisation.
